Precipices have broke down in New Zealand amid a quake in the city of Christchurch on the South Island



No Huge harm or fatalities were accounted for in the Valentine's Day tremor that struck at 13:13 neighborhood time (00.13 GMT).

Shorelines toward the east of Christchurch were occupied with swimmers and surfers when rocks started to fall into the ocean.

The 5.7 greatness shudder happened days before the commemoration of a lethal one in 2011.

That pulverized the downtown area and slaughtered 185 individuals.

New Zealand lies on the famous Ring of Fire, the line of continuous shakes and volcanic ejections that circles for all intents and purposes the whole Pacific edge.

New Zealand's seismological body GNS Science ordered Sunday's tremor as "serious", recording that it occurred at a profundity of 15km (nine miles) and 15km toward the east of the city.

Inhabitant Stephen O'Dwyer said he was on the shoreline with his wife strolling their pooch when the precipice in Sumner began to crumple.

"The ground began to go delicate. Water was coming up under the sand and individuals were sinking down to the lower legs as the ground went delicate. It shook for around 20 seconds," he told the BBC.

The shake sent huge dust storms surging over the rural area.
