Pakistan Great Singer Adnan Sami is a Indian citizen now.....

Pakistani artist Adnan Sami has been conceded Indian citizenship with impact from January 1 taking after his solicitation to the Center to sanction his status in the nation on helpful grounds.

Authorities in the Union home service said Sami will be an Indian native with impact from Friday.

Starting today, Sami is on a three-month visa augmentation which was given to him on October 6 by the service.

46-year-old vocalist, who has made India his second home for as long as couple of years, had made a representation to the home service on May 26 this year asking for his stay in India on philanthropic grounds.

Lahore-conceived Sami had initially landed in India on March 13, 2001 on a guest's visa with the legitimacy of one year which was issued by the Indian high commission in Islamabad.

His visa was stretched out every now and then. His Pakistani travel permit issued on May 27, 2010 lapsed on May 26, 2015 and his international ID was not reestablished by the Pakistan government which drove him to approach the Indian government with the solicitation to sanction his stay in India on helpful grounds.

Sami's two tunes from the collection, 'Kabhi To Nazar Milao' and 'Lift Karaa De', whose music video featured performer Govinda, were a sensation in the mid 2000s.

This year the artist tasted accomplishment after his melody 'Bhar Do Jholi meri' in Salman Khan-starrer 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' was a raving success.
